Water Filtration

BLACK BEAUTY® mineral filter media is chemically inert and virtually non-leachable, so it is suitable for use in residential or commercial water filtration applications. It is available in grades to conform to wastewater treatment media specifications which also require the filtration media to be hard, durable and free of organic matter with specific uniformity coefficients and effective sizes.

Features of BLACK BEAUTY® water filtration media:

• Heats up quickly due to black color, thereby helping filter thaw quickly in winter
• Lighter in bulk density than sand, enabling the job to be done with less product
• Low free silica - less than 0.1%
• Angular shape catches and traps sludge better than sand's spherical particles
• Black color provides a clear contrast between the filter media and the sludge, unlike sand

Sealcoat Aggregate

BLACK BEAUTY® aggregate meets sealcoat industry specifications and standards for use in mixing with coal tar emulsions, crack fillers and epoxies for sealcoat jobs. Sealcoating acts as a "barrier coating" to protect and prolong the life of asphalt surfaces.

Features of BLACK BEAUTY® sealcoat aggregates:

• Less contrast between aggregate and coal tar emulsions
• "Hide" longer than silica sand
• Excellent bonding power with low rollout and high compaction resistance
